Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. Today's Hour One Nugget begins with David Aldous reviewing yesterday's scripture 1st Peter 3:1,2 and then moving on to verses 3 and 4. We see that women are not to be concerned about their outward beauty, but the beauty within. Their focus should, instead, be on the beauty within...the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. 03/12/13 DDD Revival Now Pt.4

DDD continues with the series 'Revival Now'. This is part 4 and comes from James 4:8. "Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.  Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, your hypocrites."  James, the brother of Jesus, is telling us that if we will just draw close to God, He desires to, and will draw close to us! James also gently points out many confessed Christians continue to sin and/or act hypocritically. He encourages us to stop sinning and to purify our hearts. Other scripture reference: Romans 3:23

03/12/13 HON Accepting Authority

HON returns today with 1st Peter 3:1-2: "In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands, even those who refuse to accept the Good News. Your godly lives will speak to them better than any words. They will be won over by watching your pure godly behavior." David Aldous begins by taking a look at the contentious word 'authority'....what is IS and what it is NOT. We see that a woman should be able to look up to, and respect her husband. 02/27/13 DDD Revival Now Part 3

David's Daily Devotional continues today with part 3 of the series 'Revival Now'. Today's scripture comes from 2nd Chronicles 7:14. David breaks it down into what WE are to do...and what  God will do IF we do it. We...if we are people called by God's name....are to humble ourselves, pray, truly seek God's face and repent by turning from our evil ways. If we do these things, God tells us that He will hear our prayers, forgive our sins and restore our land. David tells us more about what this restoration could entail. 02/27/13 HON Spiritual Renewal

In this Hour One Nugget from 1st Peter 2:24,25 we see how Jesus personally carried our sins IN His body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin AND live for what is right! David takes us to Isaiah 53 :3-10 and shows us more about this.  We look at the fact that by the wounds of Jesus, we are healed.  We learn that this is not only physical healing but also spiritual healing. Also, we can read that we are no longer wandering sheep but have now turned to our Shepherd and Guardian. David leads us in a prayer for spiritual renewal that is very powerful! In David's Daily Devotional today we continue looking at Revival Now by looking at Isaiah 57:15.  We see the Holy One, Himself, telling us "I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts." David Aldous talks to us about the importance of each of us having a heart that is contrite and humble if revival is to come. He reminds us that a truly repentant heart turns away from anything standing between that person and God. 02/26/13 HON Christ-Our Example Pt2

This Hour One Nugget from 1st Peter2:22-23 continues with yesterday's theme of Christ being our example to follow. Today David talks to us about some specifics found in these two verses. Although Jesus never sinned, we know that we all sin and fall short. We look at how He also never deceived anyone. We see that when Jesus was insulted, He never retaliated. When He suffered, He never threatened revenge.  Our example is to always leave these things in the hands of our Father God....Who always judges fairly! In David's Daily Devotional today we begin a new series on Revival Now. This first part comes from Psalm 80:19. "Turn us again to Yourself, Oh Lord God of Heavens Armies. Make Your face shine down upon us.  Only then will we be saved." David begins by giving some examples of recent instances of revival. We take a look at what happens when people turn away from God and try to do things on their own.  David teaches us how to let the Lord take our problems. 02/25/13 HON Christ-Our Example

Today's Hour One Nugget is from 1st Peter 2:21 where we see that God has called us to do good...even if we suffer for it....just as Christ suffered for us. Christ is our example and we are to follow in His steps. We see that we should be doing the things God has called us to do, but if we do not know the specific task, we are to just do good. Live as good people and do good to others. David reminds us of how Jesus suffered for us and asks: Would you go to prison for Almighty God? Would you die for your faith in Jesus Christ? 02/22/13 DDD Bless His Holy Name

David's Daily Devotional is from Psalm 145:21, the last verse of this psalm of praise. We see that King David is saying that he, himself, will praise the Lord. We also find the only request in this entire psalm..that everyone on earth will bless His Holy Name forever and ever. David Aldous talks to us about the state of mind King David must have been in when he wrote this psalm and reminds us that the day WILL come...when at the Name of  Jesus every knee will bow!! 02/22/13 HON Love, Respect, Awe

This Hour One Nugget is from 1st Peter 2:17 where we see that we are to respect everyone, love other Christians, be in awe of God and respect our government heads. David talks to us about easy and difficult love as well as the need for self evaluation.  Does our behavior make us easy to respect? Are we easy or difficult to love?  We also see the danger of becoming too familiar with God and losing the awe we should have for Him. Although He is our 'Daddy', He is still the Creator Of The Universe and deserves our worship and awe. We should never lose the wonder and amazement at the fact that He loved us first!

02/21/13 HON Freedom

This Hour One Nugget comes from 1st Peter 2:16 and we see that we are free, yet, we are God's slaves! We are told to not use our freedom as an excuse to do evil. David talks to us about our freedom being BECAUSE we are slaves to God. He also talks to us about the cost of our freedom and the effect our free acts can have on others. 02/18/13 DDD He Rescues Us When We Cry for Help

In David's Daily Devotional today, we look at Psalm 145:19 and see that God grants the desires of those who fear (are in awe of) Him and He hears us when we cry for help and He rescues us! David points out that the desires He grants us will have to be in line with His will and in His time. He also points out that King David speaks from much personal experience when he says that when we cry out to God He will hear us and come to our rescue. In this Hour One Nugget from 1st Peter 2:13 we see that for the Lord's sake, we are to respect authority. We are to respect all human authority. David also talks to us about the necessity of total surrender to God. If we will surrender every part of us to God, He will be able to work in our loves and make changes.
