David's Daily Devotional continues the Revival Now series with Part 14, taken from Psalm 22:27. David refers back to previous verses to show us even more.

²⁵ I will praise you in the great assembly. I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you. ²⁶ The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the Lord will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy. ²⁷ The whole earth will acknowledge the Lord and return to him. All the families of the nations will bow down before him.

Why do we want revival? David shows us that at least it part, it is because revival makes life easier. We also see from verse 26 that our hearts can rejoice with everlasting joy!  David poses the question: Are you prepared and ready for a revival in your own heart?

1st Peter 3:11 is the scripture for this Hour One Nugget. In this scripture Peter is referring to Psalm 34:14.

¹¹ Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.

David reminds us that to 'turn away from' is to repent. He also talks to us about why it is so important for us to WORK at peace.

Today David's Daily Devotional comes from Isaiah 64:1-4 as David continues the Revival Now series with part 13. 64 Oh, that you would burst from the heavens and come down! How the mountains would quake in your presence! ² As fire causes wood to burn and water to boil, your coming would make the nations tremble. Then your enemies would learn the reason for your fame! ³ When you came down long ago, you did awesome deeds beyond our highest expectations. And oh, how the mountains quaked! ⁴ For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him! David speaks to us about the spirit of lethargy...doing as little as possible, being too tired and busy to do the work God has for us to do. He explains that we need our spirits to be revived! We also receive instruction on putting on the whole armor of God. It is so important that we adore and worship our Lord as He is waiting to spend time with us. This Hour One Nugget comes from 1st Peter 3:9. ⁹ Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it. David talks to us about 'getting even' being the way of the world, but it is certainly NOT the way of Jesus.  Instead, Jesus' teaching on revenge is:

³⁸ “You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’^{[a] 39} But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also.

David's Daily Devotional comes from Ephesians 5:11-14 today as he continues with part 11 of the series 'Revival Now'.

¹¹ Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. ¹² It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. ¹³ But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, ¹⁴ for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,

“Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

David speaks to us about darkness and light and about opening our hearts up to allow Almighty God to shine His light into even the darkest parts of our hearts and lives. For God to bring the light of revival to each of us as individuals, we must be clean....and forgiven. Our Father is faithful to forgive!

3 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. ² For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. ³ They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. ⁴ They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. ⁵ They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

David talks to us about the pressure we are under and will continue to be under during the end times. We face struggles that we do not want to go through. During these times the Lord wants to touch each of us with revival in us as individuals...and we can then carry it into our churches and communities. David also offers encouragement and comfort for these times!

The Hour One Nugget today returns to 1st Peter 3:8 as David begins a four part series from this scripture written as instruction to all Christians. Today we see where Peter instructs us to sympathize with each other.  If we cannot offer true and genuine sympathy, David suggests that we not offer any sympathy that is not sincere. We should not risk doing more harm than good. He also poses the question: if we are not genuine in our sympathy can we truly be loving that person? Tomorrow we will look at loving one another! The scripture for this podcast of David's Daily Devotional is 2nd Timothy 4:3,4. Paul is writing to Timothy (and us) that there is a time coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. Their own desires to hear what they WANT to hear will win out. They will reject the truth and choose to believe myths!  We have a saying here that goes: "preacher, preacher scratch my ear...tell me what i want to hear!" David gives us some tips on how to recognize the real truth. One is a reminder that there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ. Conviction, yes...but not condemnation.
