05/08/13 HON Gifts Of The Spirit Part 3–Faith

May 12th, 2013

10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

As David Aldous looks at the Spiritual Gifts, he focuses on Faith today.  Not normal faith, but GREAT Faith....given by the Holy Spirit.  We learn how not loving and not forgiving interfere with faith.

04/30/13 DDD Revival Now Part 31

May 8th, 2013

The Revival Now series ends with Psalm 24.

Psalm 24

A psalm of David.

1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. 2 For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths.

3 Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? 4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. 5 They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. 6 Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob. Interlude

7 Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 8 Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle. 9 Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 10 Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies— he is the King of glory.

In David's Daily Devotional today, David focuses on verses 3 and 4 of this psalm. We learn about climbing God's mountain and having pure hearts and hands. We also take a look at idols and hear some examples of modern day idols....anything that we put before God!

May 8th, 2013

Isaiah 40:1-5:

40 “Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God. 2 “Speak tenderly to Jerusalem. Tell her that her sad days are gone and her sins are pardoned. Yes, the Lord has punished her twice over for all her sins.”

3 Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting, “Clear the way through the wilderness for the Lord! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God! 4 Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places. 5 Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. The Lord has spoken!

Praying for revival to hit our hearts so we can take it into our communities. David Aldous applies this scripture to our personal lives in today's David's Daily Devotional. As these things happen, THEN the Glory of the Lord will be revealed!

04/24/13 DDD Revival Now part 29

May 8th, 2013

Isaiah 40:28-31:  28 Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. 29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. 30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. 31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

In this David's Daily Devotional, David looks at praying for and being ready for revival. Are our churches ready for the extra work of revival? Are we ready within ourselves? Are we trusting the Lord enough??

May 8th, 2013

This Hour One Nugget comes from 1st Peter 4:8.

8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

Today we hear of the 3 types of love and focus on 'agape' love....the love that Jesus has for us! We are loved unconditionally and are called to love one another in the same way that Jesus loves us. When we do this, that love can overcome a multitude of sins committed against us.

Revival Now Part 28 comes from Revelation 14:14-16:

14 Then I saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like the Son of Man. He had a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

15 Then another angel came from the Temple and shouted to the one sitting on the cloud, “Swing the sickle, for the time of harvest has come; the crop on earth is ripe.” 16 So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the whole earth was harvested.

In David's Daily Devotional, David Aldous talks to us about being prepared when the time comes for harvest. Pray for revival....wanting people to know the Lord... then ask what the Lord would  have you do to help bring in the harvest.
