Wednesday Jul 31, 2013
Wednesday Jul 31, 2013
1 Thessalonians 5:12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak,be patient with everyone. 15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all;hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil.

Wednesday Jul 31, 2013
2 Peter 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgement; David continues the study in 2 Peter 2 (moving onto chapter 3 tomorrow). False teachers wreak havoc and this goes on today as we find ourselves in the last days. David urges us to pray about where best to sow our tithes. Many false prophets exist ; amongst the worst of these in recent times was Jim Jones and his ill-fated People's Temple where 900 people died in a mass suicide. Lean heavily on God's word the Bible and don't get lead astray Beloved.

DDD Characteristics of Jesus Part 41 - Childlike
Monday Jul 29, 2013
Monday Jul 29, 2013
David teaches on the childlike nature we all need to adopt. Be humble and eliminate ego. David was able to overcome his massive ego from his time in the acting world, after the Lord poured out his intense love over a life changing 7 day period some years ago.
Matthew 18: 1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.Monday Jul 29, 2013

Monday Jul 29, 2013
David delivers a special message today that will be particularly pertinent to at least one listener.
Psalm 36
5 Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. 6 Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals. 7 How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. 8 They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. 9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
10 Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart. 11 May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away. 12 See how the evildoers lie fallen— thrown down, not able to rise!

Wednesday Jul 24, 2013
Wednesday Jul 24, 2013
20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

This devotional comes from 1st Peter 2:13-15.
13 For the Lord’s sake, respect all human authority—whether the king as head of state, 14 or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right.
15 It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. Today in David's Daily Devotional, we look at reverence. Reverence toward God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as well as reverence toward government and church leaders. Other scripture references: Matthew 22:21Friday Jul 19, 2013

07/15/13 DDD The Character Of Jesus Part 34--Optimism
Monday Jul 15, 2013
Monday Jul 15, 2013
We look at optimism today in David's Daily Devotional as part 34 of The Character Of Jesus. We read from Romans 8:25-28: 25 But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.) 26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them David Aldous gives us definitions of optimism and then speaks to us about being optimistic in faith. Optimism comes from knowing God and His Word...who He is and what He says.

Friday Jul 12, 2013
Friday Jul 12, 2013
Today in David's Daily Devotional, we look at Luke 8:52-56. 52 The house was filled with people weeping and wailing, but he said, “Stop the weeping! She isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” 53 But the crowd laughed at him because they all knew she had died. 54 Then Jesus took her by the hand and said in a loud voice, “My child, get up!” 55 And at that moment her life returned, and she immediately stood up! Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were overwhelmed, but Jesus insisted that they not tell anyone what had happened. David Aldous speaks to us about the discretion of Jesus. Even when we do not know why, there was ALWAYS a reason for everything Jesus did. Other scripture references: Luke 8:46-48
